Robotics

A perfect starting level for all children who nurture even a fraction of curiosity about technology OR for parents who want to ignite the early engineer in their child!
Oakleeaf starts right from scratch to help every child understand different concepts using a curriculum methodology
Meager assembly will have a momentary impact on a child’s understanding. Oakleeaf ensure the child has a lasting curiosity and sustained invention attitude by way of a deep 7 level curriculum and each level a take away kit!
This 7 level curriculum ensures the child understands all the nuances of Engineering through quality instructors and deep yet child friendly curriculum
To learn Robotics one needs to have a basic understanding of engineering. At child level Oakleeaf child friendly workshops ensures the child enjoys the fun-filled journey of experiments alongwith learning concepts is detail through hands-on experiments.
The organised curriculum aims to give an overall technology exposure and not a meagre plug-in product based assembly knowledge
*Kindly note since robotics is a dynamic and ever evolving subject the curriculum will keep on changing keeping the overall progression in mind.

HENCE OAKEEAF FOLLOWS THE EMIC APPROACH

E - ELECTRONICS

Understand the circuits and what is exactly inside a robot or machines around us. Clarity on basic physics principles through experiments

M - MECHANICAL

Learn to handle and create various design with finer aspects of applied math and physics

I - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

This is the core where child learns to create own logic and commands

C - CREATE YOU OWN ROBOT !

Creativity and problem-solving ability are challenged at every level to ensure you not only assemble but actually build your own robot finally at Level 7!

LEVEL 1 - FUNTRONIX

The whole idea of FUNTRONICS is to play with basic electronic components involved in a circuit. Understanding of Electronics & Circuit-making builds a lot of confidence for Robotics, especially if someone wants to pursue engineering in the future. This interest can be easily identified basis the Oakleeaf biometric test (visit :www.oakleeaf.com – Multiple Intelligence Test). It can otherwise be an extremely cool & knowledge-building *Fun*; hence the name Fun-Electronics a.k.a. FUNTRONICS.

Using Maker Breaker Junior kit, one can make more than 70 experiments. Experiments are given in the same way as we conduct practical lessons in Science in School – Aim, Apparatus, Diagram, Observation and Conclusion; along with worksheets the young adult shall record the observations & recognize the functional changes.

All the applications are either similar to the ones in the real-world or something fun, which the students can use as a game or a project. We can also conduct a few competitions using the Kit to boost the Creative aspects of a child and encourage the competitive spirit.

LEVEL 2 - Mecha-Trix

Level 2 introduces Mechanics in Robotics along with various drive systems. Level 2 is a building block for making Robots, starting with Terrestrial Robots. We control all the models using a Wired Remote for a better understanding of Robot controls.

A maker breaker kit for detailed and sustained understanding is given to every child.

LEVEL 3

At Oakleeaf in Level 3 we introduce Wireless circuits & Robots along with Solar devices & Autonomous Robots without programming. In Wireless, connection logics of Oakleeaf level 1 & 2 remain the same but introduction of some kind of circuits & protocols need to be learnt. These circuits introduce students to various concepts & terminologies in wireless communications which helps in understanding the telecommunication field too.

LEVEL 4 - 'AroVpro'

TAroVpro is Autonomous Robotics using Visual programming. Visual programming is Oakleeaf modular drag-and-drop programming which does not require use of any syntax. A student only has to design the logic for a certain program and configure some properties of the components used. The program then has to be loaded on the Robot to perform the function/application.

LEVEL 5 - 'AroEpro'

Level 5 is also about developing Autonomous Robots apart from one big difference and that is programming language. In Level 5 we use Embedded C programming which is a very popular and widely used medium for programming micro-controllers across the world. Embedded C definitely has its own advantages & disadvantages. The disadvantages are covered in Level 4 & now it is time to use the advantages.

LEVEL 6

In Level 6, we take Embedded C language usage to the next stage. Embedded Systems is a larger domain which consists of every intelligent electronic system that performs certain functions; although a general purpose computer is not an embedded system. Thus a lot of Electronic devices & machines we see in our world today are embedded systems or consist of it, making it one of the most advance fields.

Making embedded applications helps in developing a strong foundation in understanding & making electronic devices. Use of sensors forms an integral part of this stage since an intelligent real world input is always important for devices which have human or real-world interface.

LEVEL 7

Level 7, the final year of the Oakleeaf Q7 course, introduces the students to Humanoid. Walking Robots (Arthrobots) are currently scarcely used in real-world applications. Most of the advanced Humanoids are still in Research phase although they will be seen on the streets in the future. It is therefore fascinating to learn about them as well as build them.

A full feature Humanoid is introduced in the course. This humanoid has 16-degrees of Freedom & is one of the best educational Humanoid in the world. The students will program it for various basic functions such as walking, running, waving, turning etc. What we want the students to discover is how each degree of freedom helps in complete movement of a Robot. With features that are similar to a human, this Humanoid will help in building functions that we perform in our daily life. Once these are covered, we move on to building complex movements like somersault, kicking etc.
